DESERT EXPRESS is the Self Publishing Arm of PHOTOGRAPHER - BARRY SKIPSEY.

We feature EXCLUSIVELY the work of this Australian Geographic Award Winning Photographic Artist. Barry Skipsey is based in Alice Springs and has lived in the Northern Territory for the past 27 years.

The Desert Express concept is one of multiple images within a single frame and it started back in 1998 when Barry asked himself a simple question:

"How do I sum up, in one single image, what it is that I love about Central Australia? Through my landscape photography, how do I convey the essence of what it is that has held me in this region for the better part of a quarter of a century?"

Whilst the concept of multiple images in a single frame is nothing new, we'd like to think the DESERT EXPRESS interpretation of a POLYPTYCH ( more than three Images in a single frame ) is new and refreshing. So much so that we've actually coined a new term.

Introducing the SKIPTYCH.

We are based in Alice Springs ( Central Australia ) in the Northern Territory. We live in this very unique part of the world because it is simply that, an ever changing, geographically stunning, very unique part of the world.

We employ local people, source our consumable's locally and work with local companies to produce all we sell. ( When you live in a small isolated community like Alice Springs for as long as we have , you soon develop an appreciation for your Local Economy )

We produce LOCAL PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTWORK WITH UNIVERSAL APPEAL.
